On May 27, 2025, Jiangsu University’s School of Management organized a visit to the OPPLE Lighting Global R&D Center in Wujiang District, Suzhou. The visit aimed to build a bridge between Jiangsu University and OPPLE Lighting, deepen university-enterprise cooperation, and jointly cultivate high-quality talent that meets societal needs. Thirty-one MBA international students from Jiangsu University participated in the event, accompanied by Prof. He Di, Assistant Dean of the School of Management and Director of the International Education Center, and Ms. Shu Liangyuhui, International Student Supervisor of the MBA Center. The visitors were received by Mr. Ma Luguang, Head of the Overseas Regional Sales Center at OPPLE Lighting; Ms. Li Haiyan, Head of Human Resources for the Overseas Regional Sales Center; Mr. Wang Xin, Head of Human Resources for the Supply Chain Center; and Ms. Lin Yuhan, Campus Recruitment Director. The event commenced at 10:30 a.m. with a tour of the R&D center, providing insights into OPPLE’s operations and innovations. Established in 1996, OPPLE has become a leading integrated lighting company in China, covering R&D, production, sales, and after-sales services. With over 6,000 employees and a diverse product portfolio, the company holds more than 3,300 patent applications and operates in over 70 countries and regions. Having been listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2016, OPPLE remains dedicated to its mission of “creating value out of light”. Following the tour, a productive discussion on university-enterprise cooperation took place. Prof. He Di and Ms. Shu Liangyuhui introduced Jiangsu University’s strengths and its commitment to nurturing international talent. The discussion highlighted potential areas of collaboration between Jiangsu University and OPPLE Lighting, with a focus on cultivating high-quality talent to meet societal needs. During the interactive session, the international students demonstrated great enthusiasm and curiosity. They raised insightful questions regarding market positioning and development, including OPPLE’s innovations in smart lighting technologies, its strategies for expanding into African markets - particularly West Africa - and its plans for establishing partnerships or branches in African countries such as Mali. Students also inquired about initiatives to support African small entrepreneurs and build local partnerships in emerging markets. These questions reflected their keen interest in OPPLE’s business model and development strategy. OPPLE representatives provided comprehensive answers, offering clarity about the company’s operations and future vision. The event concluded with a networking lunch at OPPLE Hotel. This visit marked a successful initiative by Jiangsu University’s School of Management. It provided MBA international students with valuable insights into OPPLE Lighting and established a foundation for future university-enterprise cooperation.
